New community-focused governance structure

After a successful trial of a new community-focused governance model across our Croydon schools, each of the Inspire Partnership’s ten primary schools will now have a Local Community Council (LCC) from September 2025 onwards.
Our new LCCs will strengthen school-community partnerships and deliver meaningful local engagement.
This move will help the Partnership to achieve the goals it has set as part of its strategic plan for 2025-2028, particularly within the plan’s Community First pillar.
Melissa Carpenter, Trust Education Leader at Inspire Partnership, said, “This move will amplify local voices and ensure community perspectives are strongly reflected in our schools’ developments.
“Our Croydon trial yielded very positive outcomes. Headteachers felt supported and reported a reduction in workload while the council members felt the meetings had a meaningful focus, providing valuable opportunities to ‘deep dive’ into issues raised by pupils, parents and staff.
“Importantly, this move also stops the duplication of work between local governing bodies and the Trust board, freeing the LCCs to focus on locally relevant data and not revisiting information already reviewed by the Trust board.
“We’d like to encourage community members who have a stake in any of our schools to reach out and get involved.”
